Formed in 2005, the Tahlequah Stingrays are the only USA Swim
Team to partner with The Boys & Girls Club in the United
States. The Stingrays coaching team consists of highly qualified
and experienced USA Swim Team certified coaches who brought
to Tahlequah an impressive swimming portfolio.
The team has also attracted
a number of highly skilled volunteers who in July of 2006
elected a new Team committee to help with both financial and
promotional needs.
The first swim team formed in Oklahoma in the last seven years,
the Tahlequah Stingrays sent four team members to the Oklahoma
Age Group Championships in 2005 and walked away with a third
place medal. This year the team is sent an additional four
athletes to the Oklahoma City event on the 28, 29 and 30th
of July.
As the club is completely
volunteer-based, the team must rely on the local community
and private business support to keep it up and running. We
